Worrying Means You Don't Trust God
People worry about all sorts of things: their health, their job, their families. But did you know that worrying actually means you don't trust God? Here's why.
When you worry, you're essentially saying to God, "I don't trust that You can handle this." You're doubting His ability to take care of you and provide for you. But the truth is that God is more than capable of taking care of you. He's promised to never leave you or forsake you, and He's a promise-keeping God. So when you worry, you're actually sinning against Him by not trusting in His promises.
Not only that, but worrying also robs you of your joy. It's impossible to worry and be joyful at the same time. When you focus on your worries, they become magnified and take over your thoughts. Soon, joy is replaced by anxiety and fear. But God has called us to a life of joy, not a life of worry (John 15:11).
Finally, worrying is a waste of time and energy. It doesn't accomplish anything other than making us feel stressed out and overwhelmed. Instead of worrying, we should be praying. When we pray, we're bringing our concerns to God and asking for His help. And we can rest assured that He hears us and will answer us according to His will (1 John 5:14-15).
So the next time you find yourself worrying about something, remember that it means you don't trust God. Instead of worrying, intentionally choose to trust in Him and His promises. Cast your cares on Him and let Him give you the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).
